Merch Redux
This is only our second newsletter of the year, but it's not for lack of effort -- things have been crazy at the Fangamer office. Since you last heard from us in February, we released a huge batch of CT-inspired merch. We've also managed to come up with reprints of the Snow Wood hoodies, PK Yomega, and one of our most popular designs ever: PSI Rockin'. PAX EastShortly after we launched everything, we found ourselves packing it back up in preparation for PAX East 2010, our first-ever gaming convention booth. There are dozens of crazy stories about the hurdles we faced (at one point we thought we might not even get our booth into the convention center!), but the short story is that we poured everything we had into this booth: sleep, talent, blood, patience, and especially money. In the end, thanks to the help of our Fangamer/Starmen.Net friends, it was a huge success. We met hundreds of new/old colleagues, friends, and fans, and even sold enough merch to cover most of our costs! You can check out some of our crazy PAX pictures and videos on our blog. After we tore down the booth, Camille (my lovely wife, who incidentally will be selling figurines in the store again soon...) and I spent a week speeding across America in a rental truck, carting the booth and what was left of our merchandise. As soon as we got back, our loyal mailroom/video guy Steve started shipping orders off like a madman. PK Fire Sale!Steve slayed the backlog-monster, but we unintentionally oversold some shirts -- Chronometer, in particular, was very popular at the convention. We need to reprint several other items as well, but funds are a little tight. With that in mind, we've devised our first-ever PK Fire Sale to clear out some old stock (especially women's sizes!) and get things rolling again. You can get 10% off $25+ with the coupon FIRESALE-ALPHA, 15% off $50+ with the coupon FIRESALE-OMEGA, and the first 50 people to use either coupon get a free Patch Pack! On top of that, we've discounted some of our older merch like Flinter, Pandora's Happy Box, the Punk Boards, and EB9X. Combine these discounts with the coupon and you've got a rare chance to get a pretty incredible deal on some merch! Just remember, the PK Fire Sale will last for less than a week, so you'll need to move quick if you want to snap up the few popular sizes we've got left over! CharityIn other news, we just finished up our latest collaboration with The Speed Gamers. We donated 100% of the profits from our latest shirt, Smaaaash!, an awesome ringer/raglan which features a classic design from master typographer Jon Kay. Thanks to TSG and the amazing EarthBound community, Fangamer was able to donate more than $1,800 to the Komen Foundation, bringing the final total to over $10,700! TSG are doing a Mario Marathon in June, and we had so much fun working with them that we decided to work up another shirt design. If you're a Mario fan, you'll want to check out the 'Pipe Vault' topic on the forum for a poll/preview of Jon's latest design! You guys are awesome~Thanks to all of you, as always, for being so good to us. This summer is going to be a blast :D Reid Young
