…wow. That’s a lot of products.
With that out of the way, it’s time to get thankful, y’all. Time to think back on all the awesome and crazy stuff we did this year for/with/alongside/thanks to you guys!
- Projects!
- Partner stores: we launched shops for lots of our friends and colleagues, including:
- PAX: as usual, we made our yearly excursions to the East and West coast (in April and August, respectively) for the Penny Arcade Expo.
- Double Fine Adventure: This summer we agreed to handle 2PP/DF’s Kickstarter backer rewards and promptly drowned in a sea of 13,000 tubes (check out the video we made on the day they arrived). Four months and thousands of shipments later we emerged with calloused hands and a healthy appreciation for the enormity of the number 13,000.
- Retrowear Reprint Kickstarter: Right before PAX we finally launched a project to get our old stuff back in stock, the culmination of 4 months of design, planning, and dumb video outtakes. Backer rewards ship soon, and thanks to your support, our inventory cup runneth over with reprints in time for the holidays.
- VERSUS Art Show: Our first-ever party/exhibit, a collaboration with our Attract Mode buddies and 40 phenomenal artists. A few weeks ago we finally made the VERSUS art prints available for purchase online!
- Desert Bus: We just ended preorders for Jon’s Desert Bus 6 shirt design and are proud to announce that you guys helped us donate nearly $12,000 to the Child’s Play charity. You guys are great ;_;
- Minecraft Doc: We’ve been gearing up to fulfill 2PP’s Minecraft Documentary Kickstarter rewards. Coming soon: Creeper Wind-Ups and Pig Banks and DVD’s — oh my
- New office!
- In February we doubled our space by moving from our old office (next door to the radiator shop — we miss those guys) to an office park down the road. We knocked out the walls between two suites and immediately filled one of them with DFA tubes.
- Last month, in anticipation of the ridiculous flood of garments from the Kickstarter and the usual holiday madness, we expanded into a third suite. Our office is now three times as large as it was last year and we’re still running out of room.
- New employees!
- Jeff went full-time earlier this year and has stayed busy pumping out excellent videos and handling all of our photography. (Did you see the video he made for the Sleep-In Sale ?)
- Charlie, who joined us in February, has been managing special projects like our Kickstarter and handles mailroom stuff on a daily basis
- This summer Laura took pity on us and took over a huge variety of duties, including Packy Slips and illustrating everything from packages to coloring books to newsletters (that SNURRLUX above is her work)
- Our latest full-time hire, Heidi, starts work… today! She’ll be taking over mailroom duties and hopefully will bring along cookies
- A pantheon of part-timers and seasonal helpers have been making life a little easier for us during the holiday season. Thanks Brian, Michael, Rhonda, Jack, Jenna, Lindsay, Megan, Chon (and co), and Brian/Derek (Twinrova).
Now that this newsletter is finished…it has begun. The shipocalypse begins, meaning that we’ll be shipping all day every day between now and Christmas. Thank you for making it possible — you are as exceptional as Max expected you to be.
