Drago vs. Flint: The Showdown |
Epic battle.
Yay experimentation! To shade this and draw Flint and the Tree, I used a majorly-on-its-deathbed brush pen. very interesting. And for the white bits, I used a white gel pen I picked up. (I'll be needing to get s'more of those).
SPEAKING of getting more, it looks like the day that I use this paper I've been using will come to an end at some point, since the Green House recycled paper sketchbooks that I used to like using are no longer being carried by my local art store. :( BLEH. Why is it so difficult for me to find sketchbooks with pages that aren't bleached white. :P I have nothing AGAINST white pages, but a beige tone (and a texture like these has) can be a lot of fun to play with. Ah well. And they were cheap, too ($5 each).

Electro Specter Emerges |
Electro Specter emerging from a pile of liquid metal. The Electro Specter is another enemy that I'd not had a lot of interest in drawing for a good while. It wasn't until I was reading through the Player's Guide one day and read that it was "a lethal combination of energy and molten metal" that I was inspired to do this, one of my very favorite pieces of my EB art.
In my mind, I pictured a pool of liquid metal (a la Terminator 2) running uphill and morphing up into the Electro Specter, electricity arcing from it as it solidified. I also envisionned vein-like tunnels of the liquid rushing up, not unlike lava tubes. I feel that I'd captured all of that pretty successfully.
I also opted for axe-like and hammer-like "hands", to illustrate a "morphing" type ability.
