Aangie | The Little Forest Tenda |
One day I was wandering in the woods and I encountered a rather shy creature. It refused to show until I had sat down with a certain book. The odd creature peeked around the tree, and near it came, and I gave it the book. The book was about overcoming shyness, which I suffer from. (The Tenda was made with a piece of cardboard, some pastels, and twigs for its arms. The book was a Harry Potter book with a cover over it.)

Aangie | Five Can Launch! |
There's a bit of a story behind this entry, so be patient with me! :) This may not be as weird and slightly creepy as Draca's entry (Which is so amazing, by the way! XD) but it is a bit... unusual. I guess? So over the past week I visited the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the first time. Now, before you jump to conclusions, I was completely facinated and it really was a treat and I live at the tip of the East Coast so I never get to see awesome stuff like this. While looking in some of the exhibits, I noticed the massive Saturn V (Five) Rocket, which had the power to bring things to orbit, and was the rocket used to launch all of the Apollo missions as well as the Space Shuttle missions. Being a MOTHER nerd, I thought of the 'Five can Ladder' quote, and kind of connected it to the Saturn Five rocket. I had a notebook in my paper, so over lunch, I sketched this out and went back to the exhibit in in EarthBound's honor, I took my drawing's photo next to a display of the rocket. :) So look at it this way, there was a MOTHER fan being a MOTHER fan in a space center! I also recreated a Space Shuttle and went even more EarthBoundy on it and renamed it 'Melody' and put 'Eagleland' in place of the 'United States' logo. I also mixed up the American flag a little and let's just say it's the Eagleland flag. I tried to make each Saturn look a little different as well! I used colored pencil on the shuttle, the Saturns, the plume of flame, and the planet as well. The background was done with markers. HERE IS THE PHOTO!: http://i52.tinypic.com/2mn2ko0.jpg

Aangie | The Prince's Legecy |
Alriiiighty, my entry for Dalaam, I finished up on a cramped airplane which was bumpy and crazy. Of all the places to get inspiration! Anyways. Here's the story behind this one! I have always wondered about the art, culture and launguage of the Dalaamese. I felt that after the events of EarthBound, the people of Dalaam welcomed their crown prince with honor, and great admiration. He had just saved the entire planet from an unspeakable evil (Uhh, Samurai Jack theme here!) which they had called the 'Beast With Many Faces'. The young prince had also united with a young man from a culture that the Dalaamese did not think was honorable of the world. (Eagleland) They had to accept that the Great Powerful Chosen Boy was from this culture, and the young prince had to place his cultural difference behind him and befriend that boy, and save the world. The people of Dalaam then created this mural in their honor, emblazing the Prince and the Chosen Boy uniting, and around them, the dangers and friends they would face. NOTES: I really wanted to give an oriental/eastern feel, as Dalaam is based on Asian culture. It was done with no shading, just solid colors, with markers. I also tried to do the simplest of shapes, to represent the theme with power. Another thing I had to do was create the language of Dalaam, which I tried to base off of Chinese and Japanese characters, but in all honesty, I scribbled lines and tried to make them look like those characters. xD Sorry for my hueg rant, I hope you like this. :)

Aangie | Onett Rebellion |
Well, I really thought about this first theme. "Rebellion". What could you get into? I decided to really think beyond the topic of the piece being rebellious... but the entire piece and the artist itself being rebellious. Being an artist usually requires following certain guidelines... What colors go together, how neat it is, how the lines work, what shapes are used... throw that all away! Because this is a "rebellion" of an artist! The paper size was 8 x 19, and prismacolor markers were used, alongside a Micron. I hope you like the concept as much as I liked working on this! I do have to apologize for my scanner being a bit... disagreeing, but I fixed it up to the best of my ability.
