Magicant: The Prequel
Magicant. A “place of wonder and imagination” as the player’s guide puts it. Magicant has always been a mysterious place in Earthbound lore, in a hard-to-grasp-the-true-form-of-it sort of way. It is a strange place made of your emotions, feelings, thoughts, and memories. But what exactly is it?
Magicant is a place in all of our minds, even if you do not have PSI, that calms us, soothes us, and lets us as humans be who WE are. Magicant is often referred to as one’s “happy place”. It is a place where everything you know and/or loved, loves you back. It is a part of your subconscious that allows you to be yourself. However, there is a darker, more sinister part of your mind. It is the part where all your anger, hate, and the dark side of the Force reside in your mind. It is the evil in you. Everybody has it. It is human nature. As said in Kingdom Hearts: “The closer you get to the light, the larger your shadow becomes.”
Now that the basics are out about this whimsical location, it is time to delve into a few theories. Magicant, I believe is the physical form of dreaming. Everybody has it, but not everybody can explore it on a physical level. If Magicant is really the place of your mind, then why is it so hard to access it? This is because the average Joes of the world do not have the psychic strength to transform it into its own physical plane (FlyingMan365). The proof is in the pudding, there is a reason why Ninten and Co. are able to explore Maria’s Magicant and Ness is able to explore his own. They were psychically ready. Maria was able to let people in due to her own psychic strength and Ness was able to explore due to his collecting the eight power spots and becoming skilled with PSI.
