Conspiracy: What are the Sanctuary Guardians, and how have they come to be?

As everyone knows, Earthbound has more conspiracies than the tabloids have theories. Like, how come the Camera Man can never let Ness be? Or, where is Ness's dad in all this? But, enough with the small talk. What I'm covering here may very well change everyone's views on boss monsters. Tonight, we're going to cover the sanctuary monsters, and their supposed origins. Now, one with the jibber-jabber.

The sanctuaries are weird areas within the world of Eagleland that contain a vast amount of psychic energy. No one has been able to understand, or even harness, the energy that permeates from the 8 points. That is, until now. We don't know the specifics of when these things took place, but they all seem to be giving an answer. Over the course of time, only one monster within each dungeon could even so much as get a sample of that power, and that absolute power changed them completely, making them bigger, better, and maybe a tad freaky. But, there had to be some sort of catch, right? If they took even a step away from the spot, they would lose their power, and be left, well....weak. So, over time, they came to be known as guardians, and were obsessed with keeping that psychic energy away from anyone else, purely out of greed, and lust. Recently, a boy named Ness knocked them down. I've gathered research on which enemy became which guardian at one of the sanctuaries. They are as follows:

Giant Step: A Black Antoid probably became Titanic Ant. How he got eyes, though, is a question in itself. Probably granted through the sanctuary.

Lilliput Steps: Mondo Mole was once a Mole Playing Rough. Never knew he'd look like that.

Milky Well: Trillionage Sprout was probably once a Tough Mobile Sprout. But, that doesn't explain the name. Did he get his power from over a "trillion" years ago? Who knows.

Rainy Circle: Pretty obvious that Shrooom! was an ordinary Ramblin' Evil Mushroom, longing for a purpouse. And the sanctuary gave him one. His name hints at something......I know it.

Magnet Hill: Probably a Deadly Mouse that became the vile Plague Rat of Doom! Wait....if he was a mouse, could he have been a rat originally? Eh, I guess thats how Earthbound is.

Pink Cloud: One mysterious, rainy night, near the sanctuary, a Tangoo, Conducting Menace, and a Thunder Mite were playing Twister, but, when lightning struck, and when they were all on green, the lightning probably ended up getting them all stuck together into one monster: Thunder and Storm. Sounds like balogny? maybe. Could've been possible? yup.

Lumine Hall: A eensy teensy little Foppy was walking through the hall one day, saw lumine hall, and told all of it's bretheren. When they all went to the spot, the power of the area must've melded them all togther into one shiny, huge, metallic Foppy, now called Electro Specter. It's okay little guys, your efforts were not in vain....

Fire Spring: Our lupine friend/s, Carbon Dog and Diamond Dog, were probably a Soul Consuming Flame who must've thought the fire spring was the ultimate place for a good magma spa. Being the idiot he was, slithered into the volcanic crater, and became something we never expected in all of EB history. How and why he took on a canine form, we'll never know.

And that about covers each of the monsters's origins. Here's hoping one of them makes a cameo in Mother 3! Thsis is trillionageshrooom!, starmen.net's resident blathering encyclopedia, signing out!

trillionageshrooom! Cute Chimeras
After studying over which enemies to paint from Mother 3, I settled with these three. It was really challenging drawing the mushroom dog......in Artpad.

trillionageshrooom! Deceitful Door's Dinner.
I tell ya, there are a lot of weird enemies in Mother 3! I think the Deceitful Door monster is a total predator, enough to eat a carpet monster, which is a predator as well. Gotta love the food chain, eh? (this all takes place in Ohsohe Castle, if you're wondering)

trillionageshrooom! Good ol' Smokey.....
An onlooking Fobby stares off at a meteorific EB0 Spiteful Crow, who's attempt at using PK Fire went horribly wrong (and I use the term "horribly" heavily)). Moral of the story: leave PSI to the professionals. All done in artpad.
